Don’t worry I’m not becoming a romantic novelist!

For me the “emotional contract” is that bond, link, understanding, trust we have between our customers, employees, associates and candidates.

In the current climate that we are operating in where we are using Google Meetings and MS Teams it can be easily overlooked, that ‘emotional contract’.

12 months ago we were meeting a lot more customers and candidates face to face where I think an emotional contract can be formed in a deeper and more meaningful way.

Meeting someone in person, seeing how they communicate, seeing their body language, seeing how they respond to certain questions is gold in understanding what they want, what they need, how urgent it is, etc.

In the current climate where the talent coming into NZ has slowed (still some quality Kiwi’s coming home) the demand for local talent is extremely high, so getting to know what will tip a deal in your favour is going to be key, and gaining an emotional contract with someone might just tip that deal your way.

This is more a reminder for myself but thought I would share!
