COVID-19: Are you an essential Service? 

We believe People provision is essential, but to remove all ambiguity our office is able to work remotely, and in isolation so it is Business As Usual for Taska.

How can you do this remotely? 

Easy. Firstly we magic up finding the best people, doing what we do. We are masters of all the technology platforms for interviewing, and have been successfully doing that well before COVID-19. Post interviews we reference check online, and then check the integrity of the candidates CV online as part of our process. We deliver up the best talent to you without coming near your bubble.

What Government Departments can you help? 

All Government Departments, State Owned Enterprises and Schools . And we would love to help you. If you are unsure, there is a link here to all eligible Agencies.

What type of roles do you source for?

Most of the roles we help customers with are within the Technology and Digital space. We get asked to help with roles such as Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Test Analysts and lots of other Technology focused positions. On top of that we do provide Policy talent to some government departments. During COVID-19 we are doing anything we can to help and have also been looking for ways to help organisations with Help Desk, Technical Support and other overload functions.

What are your rates and fees?

  • For permanent roles our AoG fees are 9% of the successful candidates salary

  • For contracting roles our AoG margin is 9.45%

  • For payroll only our fees are $2.60 per hour on top of the contractors rate

Do you CIO / CTO search assignments?

Yes we do. One of our senior members has led and successful sourced the following CIO roles in the past - NZTA, LINZ, Kiwirail, Steel & Tube, Airways New Zealand

How do you find those gold nuggets?

We track and report on where our placements come from and the two main channels:

  • Headhunted - with our focus on purely government sector it allows us to go and approach top talent from within the private sector.

  • Referrals from current Taska contractors / people we've placed into permanent roles

  • We do use job boards but that only captures the active candidates, not the passive ones that are doing wonderful work for their current employer, hence we like to go out and approach people directly.

What type of technology do you work with that allows you to work efficiently?

We are all Cloud based. From our CRM which is JobAdder through to our Accounting system which is Xero, but have a great focus on BCP and allow our workforce to work all over New Zealand.

Do you source roles throughout New Zealand?

Yes. We have team members physically based all around the country with offices in Auckland and Wellington and a trusted team in Christchurch to help us support opportunities all over the South Island.

Taska has been selected on the All-of-Government (AOG) panel for Recruitment Services to the Public Sector of New Zealand.


All-of-Government (AOG) contracts establish a single supply agreement between the Crown and approved suppliers for the supply of selected common goods and services purchased across government.

AOG Recruitment Services model identified 39 agencies as service providers for all participating Government departments.

Taska provides an SLA to enforce our commitment to service. We will work with you on defining Service Level Agreements that are appropriate for your business needs.


The SLA will have strict guidelines for managing scope, quality, budget, schedules and other risks.
